Easy Mircrowave Brownies

Moist and delicious, easy and quick, these brownies can be made from beginning to end in ten minutes. One pan, hand mixed with a fork, these brownies have been a special of ours for many years, dearly loved by three generations of Vervoort women.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 CUP butter
6 TBSP cocoa powder
1 CUP sugar
2 eggs
1 TSP vanilla
3/4 CUP flour
1/2 TSP baking powder

Optional additions I have tried:
chopped walnuts, almonds, and pecans, pecans with chopped caramel cubes (Turtles™), chocolate chips, Skor™ bits, nuts and raisins (fruit & nut bar), finely grated orange rind, chopped fresh strawberries....

You'll need:
a glass baking pan, some measuring tools,
a fork for mixing, a spatula for licking,
and a microwave.

I've used everything from a pie dish to a bread pan, but best is a 9x9 inch square pan.

Melt 1/2 CUP butter on LOW, and stir in 6 TBSP of cocoa.

Add 1 CUP sugar, 2 eggs and 1 TSP vanilla.

 Blend well.

Add 3/4 CUP flour*, and 1/2 TSP baking powder.

Blend well.

Microwave for 5 minutes.

Remove from microwave and cool.

You can cut into them right away
and spoon steaming, crumbly brownie bits on to a plate:

Or cool slightly, and top with whipped cream and Skor™ bits.

No matter how you jazz them up they're always delicious.
Dangerous to the midnight snacker.
Enjoy!

* I've often just used 1/2 CUP of flour, for a much more gooey brownie.
