Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles are probably one of the first (if not the first) cookie that I made as a tween in the kitchen. They ranked pretty high in those days, and still do. The recipe I used then is the same as I use now, from my mothers hand-me-down Betty Crocker cookbook. The pages are dirty and the cover is tattered, but it has held up well for how often it's used. It even falls open to the cookie section, often right to the page of Snickerdoodles.

What separates Snickerdoodles from other butter cookies is the addition of Cream of Tartar, which adds a tangy element to the flavour.
